Music is my Boyfriend

Music inspires me. Just about every week I have at least one song on repeat playing in my car or at my desk while at work. This past week’s song was Unthinkable by Alicia Keys (very download worthy!). In the song, she is singing to her guy about how she knows that she feels something more between them, so why not go for it and take the next step? My favorite verse is, “You give me a feeling that I’ve never felt before. And I deserve it, I know I deserve it. It’s becoming something that’s impossible to ignore. And I can’t take it…” Sigh, story of my life, Alicia.

This past Sunday I tuned out my “Chubby Girl Voice,” turned up Alicia Keys along with the wonderful advice I was getting from our Kiyonna Facebook Fans and finally had the “relationship chat” with the Firefighter. I laid it all out there; I told him that I really liked spending time with him and that for the first time in my life, I wanted more from our relationship and was wondering if he wanted the same.

Drum roll please… He said that he definitely likes me and agreed that we have a lot of fun together and would want more, however with his finishing up of school and having to find a station to hire him, he didn’t know where he’d end up and he knew that he wouldn’t have the time to give me the relationship we both deserved. Now I know guys are smooth talkers, but I did believe that what he said was genuinely true. He was hurt to hear that I needed to end things with him, but he understood and respected my feelings. Ultimately, the right guy at the wrong time is just not the right guy.

I did feel bad ending a good relationship with the Firefighter, but we deserve GREATNESS Ladies!!! I’m a newly single, sexy, confident, and a curvy woman who knows what she wants, and deserves. Until I find it, you can find me at the record shop in my new “Single Dress,” the red Gabby Dress with Pockets, listening for my next inspiration.

Good for You!!!! Not many of us would have been so brave to lay it out there, let alone let it go. You go sister! I think this really will opent the door for more good men to come your way. And, eventually, firefighter is going to come inching back too, I bet : )
