Boyz to Men

So sometimes I hesitate blogging about my love life (or lack thereof, haha) but you ladies leave me some really hilarious and eye opening feedback. On my last post I mentioned that one of my New Year’s resolutions is to find myself in a smart relationship with a Boy. Brandis grounded me when she said “I think it’s time for you to find a smart relationship with a MAN”. Light bulb moment! The past few that I dated were definitely Boys and obviously this is just not working for me.

So the last we ended off I was still dating Lucky Charm. He was the really sweet guy that I had a funny run in with my Spanx. Things were going great until I started learning more and more about his best friend that is a girl and lives in Canada (a pretty long distance friendship). After getting a text one night that read “I miss you too Babe” a little early in the game I realized that he did not intend to send this to me. Needless to say we had to have a little chat about his relationship with his friend also known as Babe. Oh boy, did skeletons come out of that closet. I found out she was his ex that used to live nearby but moved out to Canada with her family, I found out that she was his first love and that she is still very much in love with him and a huge part of his life. I also found out that they were trying to make the long distance relationship work up until the time him and I met and started dating. I set ground rules and told him that I am not down with being “the Other Woman,” he promised I was the “Only Woman” so I let it continue another month or so until I got to that same point I did with the Firefighter. I wanted to define our relationship. Sure- we were dating monogamously but was he my “Boyfriend”? After a really nice low-key date with Lucky Charm I decided it was the perfect time to ask. Why waste time, right? His answer wasn’t that shocking- he really liked me too but wasn’t ready to be in another serious relationship. He liked our current dating status but couldn’t handle the role I guess? Anyways, that was my cue to leave. I know what I want and Lucky Charm wasn’t it, so on to the next one…

This all went down about four months ago. I know I’m bad for not keeping you all posted. I know a few of you had high hopes for Lucky Charm, as did I. I mean, a guy who is cool with plus size curvy girls wearing Spanx is cool with me. Since then I’ve vamped up my Match.com profile and started the search, again. I’ve actually already met a really great MAN which we will call Mr. Big (I know…so cliché but stay tuned and you’ll understand why).
